Tree Seeds Bonsai

It is important to maintain the freshness of the seeds to promote good germination. Therefore all our seeds stored in the refrigerator dedicated to this purpose. Therefore, to preserve freshness until you're ready to begin the germination process, seeds can be stored in the stock acquired We provided plastic. You can place the seeds in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator.

On the instructions of germination

Once ready to germinate the seeds, you have two (2) germination methods: natural germination or germination forced.

Sow the seed germination outdoors natural fall. Hibernate seed should be all natural processes necessary seeds need to germinate. Next spring, you should have sprouted seeds.

With forced germination, they fill the germination process artificially. Therefore, you must follow the steps listed below. Each seed is different. However, most of them require three (3) steps. Some may need more, while others require less in May. These measures include scarification, stratification and planting.

1 – Scarification

Each seed has a shell around the living inside. Some are harder than others. The aim of the process scarification is to soften the shell and allow water to reach the interior part of the seed. You scarify the seeds by placing them in water, generally a glass or a plate, for a period of four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours. The norm seems to be using hot water. Some seeds need boiling water, while others require water at room temperature. Normally, the viable seeds will drown after the period twenty-four (24) hours, while others float on top. If there are still seeds floating after the forty-eight (48) hours, which may throw the as they are empty seeds. Once finished, ready to begin the next step (note that some seeds need to go directly to the third phase).

2 – The cold stratification

The next stage is the period of cold stratification. This step is where all the magic of nature occurs. In nature, most seeds fall from trees in autumn. Consequently, seeds overwinter in colder temperatures which allows the chemical in the seeds develop and initiate the germination process, once the ideal temperature is reached in the spring. In the forced germination process, attempts to recreate the winter. To complete this process, use the following materials:

Ziplock plastic bag
Paper towel
Water

Fold the napkin in half and moisten with water. It should not be wet, but moist. Place the seeds in a damp paper towel and fold over the seeds. Place the paper towel with the seeds in a plastic zipper bag and refrigerate for a variable period of thirty (30) to eighty (120) days. We suggest you check your seeds every thirty (30) days to avoid putrefaction and allow adequate air circulation. Also look for the seeds germinated. If this happens, take the seeds sprouted and go to step next. If not, wait the required time, then go to the next step.

3 – Seeding

Sowing can be done on the ground or saucepan. You can use any soil suitable for planting and culture. Make a small hole in the floor (approximately half (1 / 2) inch in depth) place the seeds in the opening and covered with a few millimeters of soil. Keep the soil moist.

Additional measures for certain species

If you choose to germinate seeds via the forced germination process, you may be forced to take this additional step. This step occurs before cold stratification. All you have to do is expose the seeds at room temperature for thirty (30) to ninety (90) days. It is This is called heat stratification and is obtained by leaving the seeds exposed to a plaque on his desk. Having reached this stage, be taken with cold stratification.
