electric storage heater safety?

I have just moved into an apartment with electric only and electric storage heaters, i would like to know about their safety.
With normal GCH radiators I would happily leave the radiators on during the day for a few hours to dry clothes etc or leave the heating on at night for an hour or to without being scared.
With electric storage heaters would it be safe to set it to come on during the day to help keep the apartment warm and dry clothes on an airer. Also is it safe to leave it turned on when you are going to bed without a high risk of a fire.

They are very safe.. They have a built in safety feature called a fuse link, which melts if it overheats, and the power is cut off.
