flame burning to high on butane heater why?

i have a vanguard five brick butane heater the center brick seems to burning higher than normal and the brick does not turn red like the rest

It sounds like the burner assembly needs to be disassembled and cleaned. Specifically, clean the gas orifices with a wire brush- and have something like a wire or coat hanger that you can stick into each of the orifices to make sure there are no obstructions, like soot or other debris.
